Tie on a dry fly hook, here is a Tiemco 100, size 16. Use 6/0 yellow or light cahill thread. Tie in the wings first, triming the butts. Next, tie in the tail, this is zelon in “mayfly brown” color. Trim the tail material to fill in the space to the wing butts. This gives a smooth, evenly tapered underbody.
