Here is a shot of the Gibbon river in Yellowstone. This area will soon be much more difficult to reach, the road is being relocated higher up on the ridge (on the right in this photo).

Upper Coffee Pot: great place to teach kids

The Upper Coffee Pot campground is right on the Henry’s Fork, in the Mack’s Inn area. This is an outstanding place to teach kids to fly fish. The wading is very easy, the fish are very willing, and everytime that I’ve been there, the fish are rising.

Had a great day fishing the McCloud River Preserve the other day, part of the Nature Conservancy. Afterwards, while taking a rehydration break at the cabin, we ran into Christopher Babcock, one of the Field Scientist who keep the Preserve running. An actual River Keeper.
