Fly Days of August: Baker’s Hole Bugger

August 25th, 2009 · 1 Comment

Believe it or not, but the end of August is approaching. That means that September is near.  September means, to me, visiting the Madison to chase brown trout.

The Baker’s Hole Bugger was designed specifically for that pursuit, with the yellow tail being a trigger for brownie.  These pages featured a step-by-step tutorial earlier this year.

  • Hook: Wooly bugger hook, 4-xl streamer hook, size 6 or 8
  • Weight: Lead free wire, about a dozen wraps

  • Body: Brown & Yellow Varigated medium chennile

Tying tip: remember, if you are tying for Yellowstone, lead free and pinched barbs.
