It’s hot outside, so let’s cool things off a little. Its on the other side of the calendar, but there is always a steelhead season coming up. One pattern that works, at least on the Trinity River in Northern California is the blue Copper John.

• Tail: Brown Goose Biots
• Body: Blue Ultra Wire
• Wing Case: Blue Flash-a-bou
• Thorax: Peacock
• Legs: Several fibers of Partridge or Hen, tied on each side (right and left)
• Wing Case: Drop of Epoxy over the blue Flash-a-bou
