Do you have any black Krystal flash? This could be the pattern that causes you to buy a package. The Little Yellow Stonefly Nymph is dense enough to reach the bottom in swift water. It looks good too.

Little Yellow Stonefly Nymph

  • Hook: 2x long wet fly hook (Dai-Riki #060), size 12-14, with a gold bead
  • Tail: 2 Yellow Goose or Turkey Biots
  • Body: Copper wire wound on, with 3 strands of black Krystal Flash covering the back
  • Thorax: Golden stonefly dubbing
  • Legs: 3 strands of black Krystal flash on each side
  • Wing cases: turkey tail treated with fleximent
