Got to hand it to the guides. The best help you enjoy the day even if you didn’t rack up numbers.

Reminds me of a float that I did with my wife. This was on the Henry’s Fork, Warm River to Ashton float. We put in about the same time as another couple, who were fishing with a guide. We passed each other about half a dozen times during that day, waving and being polite.

My wife was disappointed by the fishing. Almost exclusively whitefish, maybe 1 trout the entire day.

At the takeout, as the guide was getting his truck, we asked the couple how was the fishing. The wife beamed how it was an outstanding day, she caught over a dozen white trout!

Later, my wife asked “what the hell is a white trout?”. I answered, a great way to get tipped!
