Maybe its time to play Thorton Melon and go back to school.

Apparently, fishing is now a collegiate sport. Who knew that a full ride scholarship would be in the left hand seat of a bass boat?  Initially, I was a bit surprised that the piscatorial sport of choice for institutes of higher learning focused on competitive bass fishing. However, looking at the fine schools represented in the Western Regional Championships, it makes more sense. Full disclosure, I can poke fun at this set of schools, because I hold a degree from one of them.

Shouldn’t higher learning should include higher forms of fishing?
